PROFILE

LaTigre is a graphic design studio based in Milan(1) founded and directed by Luisa Milani and Walter Molteni. The studio has been constantly and tirelessly searching for multiform and kaleidoscopic(2) visual languages since 2009. The main features of their formal research are synthesis and a vibrant use of color where the boundary between abstract and figurative often dissolves. The language, clean and sophisticated, lively and elegant, combines the rigor of the project with aesthetic lightness.

Luisa Milani and Walter Molteni are members
of Alliance Graphique Internationale (AGI).

(1) The entrance of our studio in via Luigi Settembrini, Milano.

(2) Our inspirations.

(3) Luisa is art director and co-founder of LaTigre. She holds a degree from Politecnico Milano and gained experience as graphic designer before founding the studio with Walter. Her design approach is solid, concrete yet spontaneous, free from constraints or creative limits. She takes inspiration from everything surrounding her, making intuition a core aspect of her practice.
She’s the artistic thinker of the studio.
Serendipity is her motto.

(4) Walter is art director and co-founder of LaTigre. Before founding the studio with Luisa he gained experience as graphic designer and advertising by working for different clients. His approach favours a formal research practised through a meticulous study of the sign as expressive of the possibility to render implicit meanings and contents visible.
He’s the rational thinker of the studio.
He’s also the boss of the music.

(5) Lidia is a graphic designer from Rome currently based in Milan. After graduating in Graphic communication design at Central Saint Martins (UK) she attended the MA in Editorial Design at Isia Urbino. With a strong interest in image sequences and juxtapositions, she works at the intersection of photography, visual ethnography of everyday life and graphic design. She’s passionate about bread, vegetables and markets.
